I walk into the courthouse and walk up to the front desk. I'm wearing a black dress, nice jewelry, and heels to fit the formal setting. A woman sitting at the desks asks for my name and various other bits of relevant information. I tell her everything she needs and then sit down in a soft padded chair in a lobby area.
Before a long, a man walks into the room looking for me. He leads me through a few hallways and then into a holding cell. It's carpeted and has white brick walls with a wooden bench that surrounds the perimeter of it. The man locks the door and I sit on the bench, waiting for my trial to begin.
After a little bit of time, the man returns holding a set of orange clothes. I ask him what it's for and he tells me that it's a standard jail uniform and I have to wear it as a part standard trial procedure. This surprises me. The man leaves the clothes on the bench and exits the cell to give me privacy to change. Begrudgingly, I take off my dress and heels and put on the uniform. It consists of an orange button-up jumpsuit and flip-flops. The phrase 'Inmate' is written on the back.
When the man returns a second time, he's holding various chains and shackles in his hands. I'm even more surprised than when he brought in the prison uniform. I ask him about and he tells me that I have to be shackled for court. I’m shocked and asked if it’s really necessary, but he tells me I don’t have a choice. He starts chaining me up by putting handcuffs on my wrist in the front. Next, he wraps a chain around my waist and then secures my handcuffs to the waist chain using a lock. Finally, he puts a set of leg-shackles around my ankles. I am then escorted out the cell, through the hall and into the courtroom.
When I hobble into the courtroom my movement is restricted by the chains. As the bailiff parades me in front of the room, the clinking of my shackles are the only source of noise in the room and I feel a wave of humiliation wash over me. I’m walked in front of the judge for the trial’s opening and then I’m taken to the defendant’s chair. The trial goes well for me, as I am only given a small fine, but I’m too focused on the discomfort caused by my chains to really celebrate.
Finally, I am taken out of the courtroom and returned to the holding cell I was in earlier. The bailiff unlocks my shackles and a wave of relief flows over me. He gives back the clothes I came in and tells me that after I change back into them I can leave. After changing, I exit the cell and then the courthouse, relieved to be a free woman once more.
Sometimes, I find myself getting so wrapped up in the writing process that I loose focus on actucally writing about bondage. As a result, I decided to write a quick fantasy about being shackled in court in 500 words or less, because that's personally a big fantasy of mine. The writing is not the best I'm capable of, but I guess that's fine given the circumstance. One could argue that the name is misleading because the story isn't about prison, but I think I'll make more of these and the name 'quick prison fantasy' just made the most sense to me. Also, I decided to write in present tense to switch things up and I think I might make it somewhat of a normality for any stories in this collection going forward.
